Filip Kahoun successfully sells his own books on the e-shop bojopozornost.cz. To ensure everything runs as it should, Toret plugins help him.
Who is behind the Boj o pozornost e-shop
The e-shop Boj o pozornost (Battle for Attention) belongs to Filip Kahoun, whose domain is managerial psychology. After a series of successes in leading well-known companies, he anchored in education. When he wrote his first book Boj o pozornost in 2019, he decided to publish it himself. And that meant selling it himself too.
“Because of unfavorable conditions, I decided to bypass the entire publishing industry, arranged a graphic designer, negotiated printers, and had an e-shop built.”
Behind the scenes of the e-shop
The e-shop Boj o pozornost is created on the WordPress system in combination with WooCommerce. Thanks to this, the e-shop is very flexible and its growth or expansion of the offer is not a problem. Books, audiobooks, and e-books can thus be sold in one place.
“Gradually, the offer expanded from one printed book to an e-book, an audiobook, and finally the second part of Boj o pozornost was added. At this moment (even without the care of publishers and book distribution), thousands of copies have been sold.”
Toret plugins take care of the necessary sales functions that WooCommerce does not enable natively. Filip Kahoun acquired these for his e-shop on the recommendation of his programmer, who also set them up for him right away.
Payment gateway appreciated by customers and e-shop owner alike
In the e-shop checkout, it is possible to pay by bank transfer or via a payment gateway. That was a clear choice for the e-shop right from the start.
“Most customers pay via the Comgate payment gateway. Over the last year and a half, it comes to over 70%. For customers and for me, it is the simplest solution – fast, functional, secure, and with minimal administration.”
The Comgate payment gateway is implemented in the e-shop using the Toret Comgate plugin. The e-shop uses its card payment or bank button functions (express bank transfer).
“When paying via the payment gateway, I don’t have to deal with anything. A notification flashes at me that it’s paid, and I know I have to prepare the shipment.”
Shipping plugin helps with sending printed books
Customers who purchase a physical book can choose shipping by Zásilkovna or Czech Post in the checkout. These are implemented via Toret shipping plugins.
“The vast majority of customers want shipping by Zásilkovna to a pickup point. I prefer this shipping too, it is the easiest for me.”
To facilitate sending, the e-shop uses the automatic shipment submission function of the Packeta plugin. Thanks to this, after confirming the payment of the order, a shipment is automatically created in the Zásilkovna system.
Subsequent package management can be done either directly from the e-shop administration or from the carrier’s interface. In the Boj o pozornost e-shop, they are used to the second option:
“After physically preparing the package, I log in to the Zásilkovna system. There I find a new record, so I “just” print the label. Dispatching thus usually takes place in three clicks – I check the order, set how many fields on the label sheet to skip, and click print.”
By sticking the label and handing over the shipment to the carrier, the sending process ends for Filip Kahoun. The plugin automatically takes care of completing the order in the e-shop again when the package is with the customer.
Running an e-shop is not a problem, even if technicalities aren’t your forte
As the owner himself says – the technical side of the e-shop is not his forte. That is also why he had all plugins set up by his programmer who created the e-shop for him.
But using plugins does not require more than common user skill. The plugins themselves simplify the operation of the e-shop, so everything from receiving payments to sending packages can be a breeze.
